![]() Both the host and the vm can ping the bridge, but I am unable to ping each machine directly. ![]() I have set in the Virtual Machine through sudo ifconfig 192.168.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 and then ping the bridge and this works! Also the internet works in the VM. Vnet0, is what I called my bridge connection. Start the virtual machine and assign a static IP for the second adapter in Ubuntu (for instance 192.168.56.56).The host Windows will have 192.168.56. In Virtual Manager, I created the bridge by using the edit, network connection, clicked on virtual networks, and went through the wizard. Try this: Setup the virtualbox to use 2 adapters: The first adapter is set to NAT (that will give you the internet connection). The new image was created without issue, but when I then checked the network connection on the desktop in centos, it says that there is no network connection. When centOS boots from Virtual Manager, it says that the mac address is different to what was expected. So, I am not sure whether this is anything to do with the image being imported to virtual-manager being created outside of it.Īs a further update to this post, I then used Virtual Manager to create a new image and to use the bridge that I created in the tool. Thanks for the reply, but I am still getting problems, and I am still unable to ping either the host from the virtual machine or vice-versa.
